Uncommon Bonds (UB) is a Christchurch-based BDSM group.

WORKSHOP: ROPE

Christchurch boasts a very active and lively shibari scene and through this workshop you will be able to enjoy a tinitlating taste of what rope has to offer.

We will cover safety, what things to consider when negotiating or beginning your rope journey, where to look for more in-depth classes and members of the Christchurch Rope Group will be there to answer any questions you might have.

There will be a range of opportunities to learn simple ties to spice up the bedroom, learn a simple but fantasticly kinky harness to wear with all your Kink outfits.

There will also be a chance to tie or be tied, depending on whether you are attending with a partner or are solo, there is something for everyone.

So come along and dip your toes into the wonderful world of Shibari, and who knows, that might lead to a trip down the rabbit hole of rope and bondage.

WORKSHOP: THE ART OF IMPACT PLAY

Whether you're new to kink or ready to level up your skills, this workshop dives into the art, science, and sensation of impact play.

Explore how different tools—hands, paddles, floggers, crops, and canes—create unique effects on the body and mind, from thuddy grounding to sharp stings that dance across the skin.

You'll learn how to build scenes with purpose, communicate clearly, negotiate limits, and read your partner’s responses.

We'll cover safe striking zones, warm-ups, rhythm, aftercare, and the psychology behind giving and receiving impact.

This is about more than just hitting — it's about trust, energy exchange, control, and connection. Come curious, come respectful, and come ready to play. No experience required — just a willingness to learn, explore, and maybe leave with a delicious bruise or two.
